• Goals

Taichung City Child Development Community Resource Center (Third District) provides a wide array of family support services, including enhancing family resource connections and usage, and improving the knowledge of parent education for families with (suspected) children with developmental delay in Taichung. The Center also helps families’ create a comprehensive plan on the overall treatment, education, and parenting for the service user. Furthermore, the Center combines community resources for the purpose of promotion, so that more people have an opportunity to understand the topic of early intervention.

• Service Users     

1. Children ages 0-6 with a Disability Card (included those suspected) and their families, who reside in East District, South District, Nantun District, Wuri District, and Dadu District of Taichung and are referred to the Center by Taichung City Child Development Referral Center.

• Description      

1. We offer an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) that is in accordance with the child and his/her family’s needs. We develop and integrate social resources, and offer interdisciplinary assessments (a collaborative work of the medical, social work, special education, and psychology professionals) and recommendations to those who have early intervention needs.

2. We offer transition services, assisting age-appropriate children into the education system and receive the necessary educational resources.

3. We offer parents growth groups, siblings groups and parent education seminars, in hope to improve parent-child communication and parents’ support systems.

4. We offer welfare subsidy consultation services (information on medical services, education, and social welfare).

5. We promote early intervention services so that people in the community can better understand and accept early intervention.  

6. We offer teaching aids rental services for families receiving early intervention as a form of community service.
